Rabbi Rebecca Gutterman
Rabbi Gutterman came to us from Congregation B’nai Tikvah in Walnut Creek, California, where she served as senior rabbi for five years. Ordained from Hebrew Union College in New York City in 2004, she also served as associate rabbi at Temple B’rith Kodesh in Rochester, NY for ten years.
During her time as our Rabbi beginning in July 2019, Rabbi Gutterman has been our spiritual leader through the Covid-19 pandemic, the sale of our building, and the process of finding our new home. She has delivered remarkable sermons, engaged our children, served our members’ pastoral needs and guided our congregants during a timeframe that presented unique anxieties and difficulties. These relationships will outlast her formal tenure with our synagogue. We thank Rabbi Gutterman for her years of service to Temple Emanu-El and wish her well in her future endeavors.
