Committees
Caring Community – Help to plan the caring agenda for our Temple community. Arrange visits and meals for ill congregants, assist in setting up homes for Shiva, reach out to upcoming Bar/Bat Mitzvah families, welcome new babies, and so much more.
Strategic/Long Range Planning – Envision the Temple Emanu-El of the future and plan how we will meet our goals.
Family Education – This is a sub-committee of the Religious School and Lifelong Learning committees. Its purpose is to help create and plan family programs with the Rabbi and Principal of our Religious School.
Finance – Are numbers your thing? The Finance Committee is looking for people to oversee the Temple's bookkeeping and cash management functions and develop and monitor budgets.
Housing – Looking to help with the upkeep of the temple? Interested in helping with technology initiatives? Come join us on housing where we work on everything from maintaining the physical structure of the temple all the way up to the technology and internet presence of the temple.
Investment – The Investment Committee is responsible for monitoring the current portfolio of the Endowment Fund and suggesting new investments consistent with the mandate of the fund. The committee meets 4 times a year.
Library – We are always in need of new people to help us work in the library, organize our books, recommend new materials, organize visiting author programs, and run our Book Fair.
Lifelong Learning – Help to set goals for lifelong learning, including adult education and education for all. Members of this committee are responsible for planning our annual Scholar-in-Residence program, book club, Israel and Jewish Film Series, weekly Lunch n' Learn with the Rabbi, Adult Confirmation, and more.
Membership – Want to help us attract and retain members? Help plan events such as the Ice Cream Social, New Member Shabbat, the Chai Club celebration for members of 18 or more years, and the Membership Appreciation Picnic.
Religious School – Our children are our future! Work with our Principal and Rabbi to develop policies and oversee events for our Religious School.
Ritual – Get the inside scoop by working with the Rabbi to create worship policies and services as well as coordinate details for High Holy Day and festival observances.
Social Action –Would you like to create a better world? Join the Social Action Committee and assist with projects such as Mitzvah Day, the School Supply drive, Families Feeding Families and other ways to achieve Tikkun Olam – the repair of the world.
Youth - Where you can help engage our youth and work to create engaging programming and events for them outside of the religious school.
