Holidays

Festivals and Holy Days are wonderful times for coming together in community. They link us with God, with Jewish people of past, present and future, and they connect us to the agricultural cycle in the Jewish Homeland, Israel.

We celebrate all major Jewish Holy Days at Temple Emanu-El. As per Reform and Israeli traditions, we celebrate one day of chag, rather than two, on Sukkot, Simchat Torah, Pesach (first and last day) and Shavuot. We celebrate the holidays with evening and/or morning services, and at Sukkot, Pesach and Shavuot, we traditionally hold yizkor at the final day morning service at 10:30 am. Morning Yom-Tov services are typically followed by a dairy potluck lunch, so the community eats and commemorates together.

Please join us for the High Holy Days season, where we hold services for adults, families, and tots. Tickets are available to all our members and members of any congregation affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism. We also offer tickets for purchase through the office to any first-time visitors.
