Temple Emanu-El's senior youth groupers are invited to take part in an incredible day of learning and giving with The First Presbyterian Church of Metuchen's Youth Group on 2/27/2021 The 2021 FAMINE.

What is FAMINE?

The 2021 Famine will be an interfaith event led by FPC where our respective Youth Groups will safely gather for a hands-on and interactive day.

Participants will:

Will learn about the pandemic's impact on local food insecurity for various socioeconomic groups
Prepare meal kits for local food-insecure families (see how we'll prepare them!)
safely fast from 9am-6pm in a show of solidarity and empathy for food-insecure individuals (there will be juice breaks!)
Enjoy games, fun, and safe socialization!

Why FAMINE?

Do you know that this time last year, 35 million people were experiencing food insecurity each day in the US? Today due to the global pandemic, there are 50 million Americans that don't have enough food to eat or don't know where their next meal will come from. It is a Jewish and civic imperative to feed the hungry.
