Experience the joy of Shabbat Services every Friday night at 7:00pm with our dynamic clergy, Rabbi Axe, accompanied by our very talented musicians. We offer Shabbat Morning Torah Study with a devoted group of members who engage in animated discussion on the teachings of the weekly portion.
Festival Services follow the Jewish calendar with Yizkor Memorial Prayers on the last day of each holiday. Come eat with us in the Sukkah to celebrate the fall harvest Festival of Sukkot; dance with the Torah on Simchat Torah to rejoice in the annual cycle of readings; recount our flight to freedom at our Second Night Community Passover Seder; and join our High School Confirmands on Shavuot as we recall standing at Mt. Sinai to receive the 10 Commandments. Share the joy of rededicating ourselves amidst the glow of the Chanukah lights and don colorful costumes to retell the heroic Purim story of Esther and Mordecai.
Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur Services offer glorious music and an opportunity for personal reflection along with all the members of our sacred community.
The style of worship at Temple Emanu-El is in keeping with mainstream Reform practice with Mishkan T’filah prayer book used throughout the year and Mishkan Hanefesh Machzor on the High Holy Days. All services are alive with spirited songs, uplifting melodies, and thoughtful sermons. Unless otherwise noted, we meet for worship in our temporary home with our JCC partners at 1775 Oak Tree Road in Edison while our new home is under construction. We are an inclusive diverse community where all are welcome – young families, interfaith, singles, seniors, lgbtq+.
